Sorry, this was a false alarm.
lang/pear disinstalls cleanly.

The issue stemed from a name change of php5-pear-1.9.4 to 
php53-pear-1.9.4, and the package didn't get uninstalled due to the 
difference in names.
I don't really know how the name changed, but I worked around it.

So disregard this report.
