I don't know if this is the same issue - daemontools builds for me - but since moving to gcc 4.4 on DragonFly, lang/SmartEiffel, lang/gprolog, and mail/fml4 will hang during building the same way. SmartEiffel looks like a script loop, as the work log will eventually fill the disk, but the other two just hang. This may be irrelevant.
Here too lang/SmartEiffel did loop and had to be manually stopped. I didn't dig into that one yet as i'm focusing on big offenders atm.
