Yes, much more!
Other features:
 * you can install pkgsrc stuff without root
   permissions, and thus be safe from messing up your system.
 * you can say where to install all packages to. This allows to have
   packages in /pkg-V1, and whenever you decide it's time to move to a new
   pkgsrc version, put them into /pkg-V2. When everything works, switch
   the /pkg symlink and be done.
