As to the second question: A simple pkg_delete had spit out various
messages of the form `Executing /bin/rmdir ... || true', which was
annoying, useless and hiding the few really interesting messages. I
wanted to have exactly this behavior some years ago, and I still like
it, since it will remove the need for all those @dirrm directives in PLISTs.
