While looking at this, you might consider cross-platform kernel debugging support. FreeBSD gdb on i386 can also debug NetBSD and Linux kernels on a serial link. The last time I tried NetBSD gdb (sorry, don't have the version, but it's not the latest), it couldn't handle FreeBSD cores. I didn't try Linux, and I haven't tried OpenBSD with either version.
