I'm not sure I agree here. Memory wise, it might become a drag, but it 
should definitely not be impossible.
My 4000/90 have 128 Megs of memory, and plenty of swap. I can't imagine 
gcc shouldn't fit. But speedwise, it's horrible. :-)
