IIRC this is a bug in the linker, it something isn't correctly
initialized or so. I don't remember the details, but I remember that
this was fixed by Matt Thomas more than a year ago. I remember doing
native builds for 5.0 and -current.

Ah. It might be that I haven't updated that particular machine recently enough... I seem to remember that it was fixed, but I cannot remember how long ago it was. And my memory is sortof hazy on the subject, since this is one of those issues that have (had) been hanging around for atleast 10 years.

By the way, it seems silly to build various documentation as a part of building tools. But maybe that is just me...
