So, do RZ28 do any kind of bad sector replacement internally? If the

  Just use scsictl reassign?

Close, but that did not seem to work. I tried to reassign the bad blocks, but although it added blocks to the grown defects list, I was not able to determine if they were the blocks that asked to be reassigned and it also did not stop those blocks from having read errors. I settled on scsictl /dev/sd2 format and it seems to have worked like a charm. I see no read errors when reading the entire disk now.

Thanks,

Chuck
