Depends. How hard would it (putatively) be to change them back, back
to being usable as general-purpose keys, coëval with the rest of the
keyboard's keys? "Hack the kernel source"? "Diddle the config,
reconfig the kernel"? "wsconsctl ..."? "sysctl ..."?
Provided it can be done without rebooting, I have no objections at all.
If it takes a kernel config change, I don't like it all that much but
could live with it. If it takes hacking the source code, that _would_
quite bother me.
