Progress going on these days....
cmake-4.1.1nb1.tgz
libatomic-13.2.0.tgz
dbus-1.16.2nb1.tgz
freetype2-2.13.3nb1.tgz

Thanks to these on my SS20 with I am continuing to build dependencies I
need.
Building harfbuxx, fontconfig, libaom as I write.

On the free, but slower SS4 which is still on 10.0 I am buiding some
more packages for fun:
lynx-2.9.2nb5.tgz
wget-1.25.0nb1.tgz

libaom building as I write.

isn't it for notoriously slow (when un-SIMDed) AV1 video codec?

I ran simple qemu-system-sparc  test with ffmpeg6 on 160*120  mpeg1 test video (1) and I get nearly 3 fps with default x264 settings! I am sure h265 (via x265) will be slower, and av1 will be even slower.

But they surely fun to have on such machines

which are always handy. Lynx access www.netbsd.org just fine!

htop is also built and works, so I can see those old horses work!

Just need a place to share thse "natively build" packages which are
quite sure to work.

Riccardo, I am not sure if people there currently in position to help you, but I generally follow PPC macs forum there, and may be someone can offer you rsync service?

https://forums.macrumors.com/forums/powerpc-macs.145/

or there is nextcomputers.org forum

but they tend to be blocked by default in Russia, so I visit them rarely. (NeXT STEP was sort of foundation OSX was built upon, over many iterations over years. There even was and is Sparc version of it!).

You said you try to compile GNUStep, so I guess you are interested in this line of thinkering too ....

PS: jpeg-turbo seems to work on Sparc 32bit in some first tests.

good to know.
