Add to your kernel config:
options DDB_COMMANDONENTER="trace;show registers"
that will provide some useful info even though you cannot enter
anything.
Do you have kernel/userland mismatch without necessary COMPAT_ in the
kernel?
BTW, can you enter something to the boot prompt? I.e. I wonder if
this is problem with your console cable.
