Yes, on macppc (powerbook G4) the base system seems to work fine with
gcc4, but some packages break quite badly.  For example, build
of pkgsrc/x11/wxGTK fails with an internal compiler error, and
pkgsrc/math/pari fails at startup due to some wierd readline error.
(I will try to figure out why they fail within the near future; but do
not hold your breath.)
