...the last time Charles and I played around with the OpenFirmware on
a Powermac, we were driven to frustration by the (IMO) crappy OFW
implementation.  Example: open network device, it automatically attempts
to set up a tftp session ... not terribly useful if you want to, say,
mount a root file system.  I couldn't find any way to disable this
"feature".

...I need to read 1275 again, but even if they are adhering to the
standard, they're sure doing it in a rather annoying way.  :-/
