ELF kernel runs...
So, that bit about getting sleep... well, I decided I wouldn't be
able to sleep until I tried an ELF kernel...
The new boot block loads the ELF kernel, and it runs just fine.
Hmm, actually, it dies somewhere during the mountroot phase, it
looks like... this is probably a bug in the setroot() changes I committed
a couple of weeks ago (but hadn't been able to test on all platforms).
I'll debug that soon... (*sigh* can't use ipkdb, since my OpenFirmware
doesn't grok my Ethernet interface...)
Anyhow, it's still good news, nonetheless. :-)
Ciao.
