OK, so we know the kernel issue which affected userland is present
from at least 2017-01-01. Annoyingly 2016-0{1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8}-01 do not
directly build for me (I suspect its due to an earlier version of gcc,
the upgrade of which could also be the cause of the issue). I'll run
through 2016-{09,10,11,12}-01 just to see if we can easily get another
data point.

Re the pcmcia issue, as Jason has fixed the ifattr attach issue,
tomorrow's nyftp HEAD build may give more information, plus if you
have time to test some of the 2018-2020 test kernels to see when it
was introduced I can fill in more builds in whatever gap that
identifies.

narrow this down :)
