I have (running current right now) but I am not sure if a GENERIC
kernel will work, I use POWERMAC_G5.MP.

We should add that kernel to the install images, it seems only two kernels
are there:

CDKERNELS=      netbsd-INSTALL.gz netbsd
CDKERNELS+=     netbsd-INSTALL_601.gz netbsd.601

(from src/distrib/macppc/cdroms/installcd/Makefile)

I initially booted this machine by loading ofwboot.xcf from a CD and
then netbooting the kernel. Nowadays I use a FAT partition to load
ofwboot and the kernel (as my root filesystem is on a sata controller
that OFW does not know about).
