Graphics initialization issue(?)

Hi,

one of my colleagues is installing NetBSD in a "dual-boot" setup
with MacOSX, and we finally managed to boot it using ofwboot.elf;
ofwboot.xcf failed there as well when booting from the harddrive
with different symptoms: either it hangs after ofwboot.xcf is
loaded or loops spewing some error message.

This means we need to press Command+Control+O+F to escape into
OFW (which initializes the graphics, and which on my other Macs
seems to cause the screen output to continue after NetBSD is
booted), and we boot using

  boot hd:4,\ofwboot.elf

which works, but by the looks of it (I only saw it do this once),
once it hit the graphics driver, the screen went black (but not
"no signal").  The box was preconfigured with network, sshd, and
a local user, so after a while it was possible to log in over the
network, the attached is the kernel messages from the bootup.

Is there a bug lurking in the graphics driver which causes this?

This symptom appears to be different from the "doesn't init
graphics when doing an auto-boot" where I have a suggestion for
some OFW settings which I've not tried out yet.
