A lot has changed since those docuemnts were written and they sorely need to
be updated to refect the current status of the port.
I don't know how the Mac IIcx will perform with the accelerated video card
I've only worked on the Powerbooks (160 and 520/540c).
TinyX does support color depths from 1/4/8-32 bpp. Improved graphics
performance with "options GENFB_SHADOWFB" is a bit of a hit and miss some
systems will perform better with it enabled others may not.
If for any reason you have video issues you should at least be able to
complete the install with the built in video card or just take your external
blue scsi witht the PowerBook install on it and try it provided you boot an
appropriate kernel with the nubus and video drivers in it.
I am looking forward to see how well the IIcx works.
