You didn't say what version of NetBSD you tried..  go to the ftp site, under
pub/NetBSD/arch/i386/snapshot, pick the most recent date, and try that kernel
(/binary/kernels/netbsd.GENERIC.gz).  It may be supported in -current.  I'm
guessing it will show up as an rl card.. not sure though.
