AFAIK its just an FPU and ensuring enough RAM is present (you probably
need to max it out at 8MB). I seem to recall some discussion about its
onboard framebuffer being a bit different, but I don't know if a fix
was ever committed to the tree.

Also, an FPU is only needed for userland, so you should definitely be
able to test boot a kernel without one, and if you wanted you can
easily cross build a soft FPU userland.
