Unable to build toolchain on asahi linux

Hello there.

I'm a linux person interesting in dipping my toes into netbsd.

I'm currently trying to build a netbsd-11.0 toolchain with `build.sh` like this:

 ./build.sh -U -O ../obj -j10 -m evbarm -a aarch64 -N1 -u tools

... which results in a build failure that looks like this:

I'm running fedora asahi remix on an apple m2 max so I it's likely the underlying issue is related to my hardware.

Any ideas what the issue could be or how to debug further?

Some info about my setup:

Source code: netbsd-11.0 (from ftp://ftp.NetBSD.org/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-11.0/source/sets)
Compiler: cc (GCC) 16.2.1 20260819 (Red Hat 16.2.1-2)
Host OS: fedora asahi remix 44 
Hardware: apple m2 max
