I went to the site to try to answer this question but I couldn't
(because they claim the function is so simple there should be no
questions):

Does this just show a U boot bootloader on the Pinebook Pro before it
boots the OS?

(A picture on their website would have been worth, like, 5 or 10
words. Maybe this humor would connect with them...)
