booting single-user

Hi list,

What's the Right Way to boot single-user on an RPI0W running (an oldish) -current/evbarm? I variously tried adding an init= line to cmdline.txt (a la Linux), creating a boot.cfg file at the root of the DOS and FFS partitions, and--in desperation--changing rc_configured to NO in /etc/rc.conf. The last attempt is the only one that worked, but it hardly seems proper.

The wiki has a \todo line on the subject instead of actual instructions.

I'm using a serial console but could switch to fb in case it matters.

Thanks,
Pouya
