Trying to run NetBSD in a KVM/aarch64 VM

Greetings! I have an aarch64 workstation (Linux coconut 5.6.14-1-default #1 SMP
Wed May 20 08:32:48 UTC 2020 (b0ab48a) aarch64 aarch64 aarch64 GNU/Linux) and
my newly NetBSD'd Pinebook Pro. Building pkgsrc on the Pinebook Pro is slow, so
I set about creating a VM on the Linux workstation to run a more powerful build
VM.

Unfortunately, I cannot get the arm64 iso or img to boot, instead the KVM fails
to identify anything bootable on the "QEMU CD-ROM" device and ends up in a UEFI
shell.

I'm curious if there's UEFI support missing from the 9.1 artifacts, or if there
might be something I could be missing when virtualizing NetBSD/aarch64?
