How to only build userland when doing a "build.sh release"?

When doing a "build.sh release" for evbarm all kernels are built for all the 
arm ports. I only need(ed) the userland binaries...

The full NetBSD 7.0 build took (tools/release) more than 24 hours on a i386 
VM and bombed twice (out of memory - no swap and because it needed more 
virtual disk space).

How to go about only building the userland binaries? Deleting kernel config 
files?
