NetBSD/arm64 on QEMU



Hi folks --

Spent some time today on making qemu-system-aarch64 work. Quick and dirty instructions to boot GENERIC64 (you will need up to date -current for this):

SMP=8
MEM=2g
qemu-system-aarch64 -M virt -cpu cortex-a57 -smp $SMP -m $MEM \
  -drive if=none,file=arm64.img,id=hd0 -device virtio-blk-device,drive=hd0 \
  -netdev type=user,id=net0 -device virtio-net-device,netdev=net0,mac=00:11:22:33:44:55 \
  -kernel netbsd.img -append root=ld4a

For > 8 CPUs, you can try adding "-machine gic-version=3", but I was unable to get it to work. Will keep looking into it.
