GRF_#? options for grfcc/amidisplaycc and grf/ite question
Hello!
Which GRF_#? options are required to get a working display with the internal
amiga chipset? It seems to me that having only GRF_PAL in a kernel config
does only wirk if the aga chipset is already in a "compatibilty" mode. If I
boot such a kernel directly from the bootblocks the display is completely
garbled. Booting the kernel from an AmigaOS partition with no
startup-sequence works. For bootblock booting I need GRF_AGA in the config
file too. Is this a bug or is that the only correct way?
Next question: the documentation for amidisplaycc states, that it doesn't
support X11 but for that grfX could be used. I then tried to build a kernel
with grf3 included but without ite3 and 5246CONSOLE. The result was failed
linking. Is the tight coupling for grf/ite intentional? I changed the
sources a bit and could create a new kernel. However, it seems using a PIV
for X11 only and the internal chipset as console doesn't work. As soon as
the PIV is initialized the chipset output stops. I can login and start X11
on grf3 though. If I disable a certain initialization for the PIV the
console works but starting X11 doesn't work anymore :-( Is there any hope
for the CL5426 driver?
