Error in make depend on 1.5.1_BETA kernel from 6/4/2001 sources

I seem to be getting a bogus error message during the 'make depend' phase
on my kernel with sources in the netbsd-1-5 branch from 6/4/2001

The end of the 'make depend' looks like this (in a clean directory
folling a 'rm -rf' of the old one and a new 'config')

=================================================
mkdep -a -x assembler-with-cpp -traditional-cpp -D_LOCORE -I.
-I../../../../arch -I../../../.. -nostdinc -DM68060 -DM060SP -DIPSEC_DEBUG
-DMAXUSERS=64 -D_KERNEL -Damiga -DFPCOPROC ../../../../arch/m68k/m68k/bcopy.s
../../../../arch/m68k/m68k/copy.s ../../../../arch/m68k/m68k/copypage.s
../../../../arch/m68k/m68k/oc_cksum.s
../../../../arch/m68k/m68k/reenter_syscall.s
../../../../arch/m68k/060sp/netbsd060sp.S
../../../../compat/linux/arch/m68k/linux_sig_machdep.S
../../../../arch/m68k/060sp/netbsd060sp.S:347: invalid format `#line' directive
mkdep: compile failed.
*** Error code 1

Stop.
=================================================

However simply rerunning 'make depend' gives this

=================================================
root@amy:/sys/arch/amiga/compile/AMY# make depend
depending the kern library objects
depending the compat library objects
root@amy:/sys/arch/amiga/compile/AMY#
=================================================

And the kernel builds fine, this is the config file I'm using
