I modified the driver to include support for ATAPI devices (which works
with my CDROM and the ATAPI ZIP drive). It also still works with my
original Seagate drive.

  What drive are you using?

I will hopefully have an 8G Seagate ATA drive I can test this weekend,
so I can see if it works with a newer drive.

There is also some debugging code in the driver, which may provide more
information on what the driver is doing when it probes for the devices.
[The standard DEBUG option enables some code, which also uses the variable
ide_debug to enable further output. The DEBUG_ATAPI option enables more
verbose ATAPI information.]
