A recent build of 9.99.64 is more or less behaving the same, or worse on this older MacBook2,1 -- the kernel loads, the video mode changes, and a solid non-blinking block cursor appears in the top left, but the caps lock key no longer does anything. A short press on the power button does make the solid block cursor disappear. -- Greg A.
