Hi,
I have just committed wip/linphone. This is surely work in progress,
since there are still a lot of things I am unsure about:
- I am thinking of having the option of building only a a non-gui
package, i.e. linphonec. I would prefer to do this in a separate
package, but then I would have to prevent linphone from building or at
least installing linphonec as well.
The other possibilioty would be to have a PKG_OPTION called gui, which
if absent prevents the GUI version from being built.
- Likewise, it would be nice to be able to build a GUI version with less
requirements of installed Gnome components.
- I am not sure whether I caught all nevcessry include packages. Things
might happen to work on my system just because some necessary packages
might be installed anyway.
- I am a bit puzzled about the "Truespeech" codec suppoert. I tried to
enable it, but it seems I need additional code. Looks like I further
have to stude the docs and read the code...
- I have built it on Linux only, so I would not be surprised if things
did not go that smoothly on other systems yet... especially with audio
support, which would probably still have to be tweaked. (and maybe somre
OSS buildlink includes or something like that?). pkgsrc does not have
explicit support for ALSA, does it?
- Linphone seems to come with its own version of gsmlib. I am not sure
whether it would be feasible and desirable to make it use the pkgsrc
one.
- Would be be a good idea to make the use of speex optional as a
PKG_OPTION?
- Since this is the first package I create that involved libtool, I
would be curious whether I did it the correct way. Please also note
patch-ae in this context.
- I hope it is OK to put all the libs in PLIST.
- I hope PLIST in complete :-)
- There still seems to be a problem with the gnome help files.
- The configure script complains in p5-XML-Parser is not found, so I
added it as a dependency. I hope this is correct. I still have to figure
out if it is a build-only dependeny or whether it is needed at runtime.
I also added USE_PERL5=; hope this is correct.
Waiting for your feedback,
Georg
