I agree that this is overly aggressive. If Oracle just pulled the plug,
I feel like we're a year away from removal.
I object, until there's a posted analysis that there are no programs in
pkgsrc that need 17 (and aren't 1005 ok with 21), and that there are no
users who could be using 17, wihtout being egregiously out of date.
There's another question, which is how much troulbe it's causing for
this to be in pkgsrc. I really don't remember seeing list traffic about
breaks of such packages and pain dealing with them.
