0) Make sure your -currnet updates have been correct, with all sets you
ever installed updated, and the contents of etc/xetc merged properly
(etcmanage, by hand, and probably sysupdate or some such).

1) Check to be sure that you have a coherent plan about whether you are
using base xorg or modular (from pkgsrc) xorg.

2) You said netbsd-current, so you're on thin ice.  In general,
netbsd-current can have ABI changes, so you cannot just update some
packages.

I suggest
  - pkg_admin rebuild, and rebuild-tree
  - "pkg_admin set rebuild=YES \*"
  - "pkgin sk" and make sure it's what you want
  - "pkgin ar"
  - check your mk.conf and make sure you understand it 100%
  - restart pkg_rr

3) read the header files that are referenced.  compare the base vs
modular version.
