wordpress build: builds php82 and then says not found

In www/wordpress, running make builds php82 as a dependency, installs it,
cleans the work dir, but later says there is a stale work directory.

    ===> Cleaning for php82-8.2.29
    ERROR: [depends.mk] A package matching ``php>=5.6.0'' should
    ERROR:     be installed, but one cannot be found.  Perhaps there is a
    ERROR:     stale work directory for ../../lang/php82?
    *** Error code 1

Installing php82 up front and then running make draws:

    ERROR: php82-8.2.29 is already installed - perhaps an older version?
    ERROR: If so, you may wish to ``pkg_delete php82-8.2.29'' and install
    ERROR: this package again by ``/usr/bin/make bin-install'' to upgrade it properly.
    *** Error code 1

If I use bulkbuild for this, it reports following packages as missing.

    lang/php82
    lang/php74
    lang/php81
    lang/php83


How to deal with this?
