I got metalworks (from the openjdk17 package) to run nicely with
oracle-jdk17.

I found the issue with PDF-Over - it was the MIME database.  When I
start PDF-Over now, with oracle-jdk17, it hangs in "futex", every time
I tried (>10 times). The previous version of PDF-Over (with
oracle-jdk8) worked about 1 out of 3 or 4 times.
