Re: Thunderbird botch

Hi,

I just wanted to add to this:

This is fixed for me with the current version of thunderbird, I was one or 2 commits of it behind.

I made the grave mistake of upgrading Thunderbird to 78 without a backup

Platform is netbsd-9 (amd64) with pkgsrc X11. The machine completed a
pkg_rolling-replace today.

The newly installed mail/thunderbird converted my profile, but is unable
to render half of its UI - no mailboxes.

Do the updated Thunderbirds work for anybody?
It's been working fine for me after the update... netbsd-9 (amd64) with
base X11. I note that the icons changed, as did some of the colors used
(e.g. when replying to email). At one point I think it also decided to
re-download all the mail in all folders, which was somewhat less than
amusing, but didn't seem to break anything.

I have the same issue I believe.

Opening preferences looks like this:

[calBackendLoader] Using Thunderbird's libical backend
console.debug: "Successfully loaded OpenPGP library librnp.so from /usr/pkg/lib/thunderbird/librnp.so"
console.debug: "public keys: 0, secret keys: 0"
console.debug: "0 protected and 0 unprotected keys"
JavaScript error: chrome://messenger/content/specialTabs.js, line 1051: TypeError: Cc['@mozilla.org/updates/update-manager;1'] is undefined
console.debug: "Successfully loaded OTR library libotr.so.5 from system's standard library locations"
Error: No such tab mode: preferencesTab

Opening account settings works:

JavaScript error: chrome://messenger/content/folderPane.js, line 311: TypeError: gFolderTreeView._treeElement is undefined
console.error: (new TypeError("this.paneViews is null", "chrome://calendar/content/today-pane.js", 96))

I believe something is missing. I just upgraded to 9.99.73, updated pkgsrc 2 days ago and build + pkgin upgraded my system within the last hour.

Starting with a new .thunderbird folder does not change the treeview issue or other glitches.
I have a similar problem on one installation - it is NetBSD-current
9.99.73 as of 4 days ago (full pkg_rolling-replace completed around
that time). On this laptop thunderbird fails to open any folders; I
created a completely new profile, was able to connect to my gmail
account (this one) and send a test mail; I could not open any mailbox
for reading though - the left-hand site remained empty.

On another system (same NetBSD version, VirtualBox guest) thunderbird
worked ok.
