gettext-tools configure error

Hi everyone,

When compiling gettext-tools with default options I get the error "C compiler
cannot create executables". At first I thought it has to do with the compiler
itself (clang), but changing to gcc and pcc doesn't make a difference. Does it
have to do with iconv? Any thoughts, workarounds? On NetBSD it doesn't happen.

System: Alpine Linux (musl) edge, pkgsrc-2017Q4.
