Spot on.  Grep'ing for boost_system.so.1.60 in /var/db/pkg/*/*
found a few packages which libreoffice depends on, which had not
been upgraded.  I did "make replace" on those packages, and I now
once again have a working libreoffice, now version 5.1.4.2.
