meta-pkgs/boost and devel/boost-libs both indicate that GCC 4.5 is required.

However, the boost packages build fine with the patched GCC 4.4 on
RHEL/CentOS 6.

Attached are patches to eliminate the GCC 4.5 dependency where it isn't
needed.
I've committed this (with a minor change to use LOWER_VENDOR). This
will improve my Linux bulk builds, thanks!
Since this change I'm seeing the following failures on my CentOS 6
build hosts (32-bit and 64-bit):

Could you take a look?

Thanks,

I'm not getting this error in 2015Q4, but I am in the latest snapshot. Have you tried building it with the GCC pkg dependency?

Never drink coke in a moving elevator. The elevator's motion coupled
with the chemicals in coke produce hallucinations. People tend to
change into lizards and attack without warning, and large bats usually
fly in the window. Additionally, you begin to believe that elevators
have windows.
