Dblatex hard dependency on xfig

Hi list,
in pkgsrc, dblatex has a hard dependency on xfig. I'd like to remove that dependency to be able to use dblatex on headless servers. What's the best way to do it?

For now I simply removed the dependency from the Makefile. Thos seems viable since upstream doesn't list xfig as an explicit dependency.
