Thanks, that's a start.

Most of the old StarOffice code has been rotting for more than 20 years
and uses a weird architecture with some sort of plugin-like binary module
interfaces even among the same application.

Add to that gratuitous platform differences, code ported the wrong way,
people implementing new features with liberal use of copy / paste operations
without understanding what they were doing and it's not surprising to
find this sort of eisenbug...
