I fully agree with you.
From years I never seen something so intelligent/powerful and popular like pkgsrc (we have a lot of solutions around here but none with all privileges of pkgsrc glued all together).
With Pkgsrc I feel more free than any apt-get like tools that use a very centralized vision (with a lots of pros).
