postgresql -- missing files?

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hello,

I'm trying to build a package for PL/R. At first, I was annoyed to
read "in source tree build" on the PL/R installation notes, but
apparently there's another way (in postgresql 8 and on).

But when I try it, I get this:

Makefile:41: /usr/pkg/lib/postgresql/pgxs/src/makefiles/pgxs.mk: No such
file or directory
gmake: *** No rule to make target
`/usr/pkg/lib/postgresql/pgxs/src/makefiles/pgxs.mk'. Stop.

According to the PL/R developer, those files should have been
installed for me when I installed postgresql. He suggests that perhaps
there is a "postgres-devel" package. AFAIK, the general philosophy in
pkgsrc is that there are no "devel" packages. When you install a
package, you get it all -- which is the way I prefer it.

However, I don't know about the pgxs.mk (and it's associated files,
if any), but is it something in the land between "source tree" and
"developer tools"? Should there be more files installed during the
postgresql installation?
