How to find automake's texinfo.tex and mdate-sh?
Background:
I'm in the process of packaging freetalk-0.5. The author, when
he generated the tarball, didn't use the ``-h'' flag to tar, so
he packaged the symbolic links to automake's mdate-sh and
texinfo.tex files on his system.
Of course, having generated a patch to configure.ac, I now get
to regenerate the configuration, and it fails because of the
dangling symlinks.
Query:
Since automake is a prerequisite for this package (via
USE_TOOLS), is there any easy way I can find the path to the
texinfo.tex and mdate-sh files provided by automake.
I found them on the filesystem, but the path information has
automake version information embedded in it.
Is there any way in the existing packaging infrastructure to
determine the pathname to these files provide by automake?
