Right, things work fine when using the correct default.  But ignoring
the problem is going to make it go away.

And for those of us in denial about the problem, it can quite easily
happen that someone wants the new fonts and has the other TeX installed.

So to some suggestions:

1. set up separate (meta-) packages, and use them in preference to
one gigantic "depend on teTeX" statement.

2. find out why "teTeX2 is not an acceptable version" and fix it

3. don't match on teTeX2 being a pre-requisite for tex-eurosym-1.0nb3

4. have separate packages for tex2-eurosym and tex3-eurosyms.

I'm sure there are many more ways to fix this.
