I've updated this build to gcc-15.2.0, and so there is a lot more 
fallout from the continued GCC strictness changes.

Some of this will be illumos specific, but a lot of it won't be.  I hope 
it'll be useful to others who may be looking to move past GCC 14 at some 
point soon (I'd like to get it updated to 16.x relatively soon).
