 Since I created this issue, I upgraded the packages on my system to be 
 in-line with the latest pkgsrc 2026Q1, and when I switch back to 
 JetBrainsMono now, the issue now seems to be gone.
 
 Not sure what fixed it, but I suppose this can be closed now. Thanks!
