>Description:
The pkgsrc corner of the NetBSD wiki, page "how to use pkgsrc on linux"
available at: https://wiki.netbsd.org/pkgsrc/how_to_use_pkgsrc_on_linux/
mentions several dependencies for using pkgsrc on Linux that have to be
provided by the host OS, such as gcc. I've just set up pkgsrc on a freshly
installed minimum install of Debian Bookworm, installed all the listed
dependencies and still pkgsrc broke in weird ways. Turns out, the Debian
minimal install (just "ssh server" and "standard system utilities" selected) does
not in included a version of awk these days ...
>How-To-Repeat:
- Install Debian Bookworm (e.g. amd64 version in a VM):
  - in the "Software selection" screen of the installer, only select
    - "ssh server"
    - "standard system utilities"
 - finish the installation
- fetch pkgsrc by appropriate means
- run bootstrap
- try to install pkgtools/digest, see it fail with " -F not found"
  errors in the exection
- add awk: "apt install gawk"
- retry installing pkgtools/digest, see it succeed
>Fix:
Add awk to the list of "Software requirements" on "how to use pkgsrc on linux
" at https://wiki.netbsd.org/pkgsrc/how_to_use_pkgsrc_on_linux/
