 I have
 WRKOBJDIR = /scratch
 that's why /scratch appears there.
 
 I think it's a combination of variables set in your environment that
 overlap accidentally, which do not overlap in default setups.
 Try a WRKOBJDIR and PREFIX that are not overlapping.
