 The configure script for x264-devel does set INSTALL to /usr/ucb/install
 if it exists:
 
 case $host_os in
     ...
     sunos*|solaris*)
         ...
         if test -x /usr/ucb/install ; then
             INSTALL=/usr/ucb/install
         elif test -x /usr/bin/ginstall ; then
 
 Guess that could be patched out instead perhaps, but /usr/ucb/install
 works as long as a single dir is specified.
